The school is a co-educational, nondenominational establishment providing education for children in Nursery to Primary 7. The school also has capacity for children with autistic spectrum disorder within its current resources. There are 7 classes in the school at thepresent moment plus the nursery class.
The school is situated between the camp quarters and the camp itself and is surrounded by a large grass playing field and tarmac playground. There is therefore ample play accommodation available. Capacity for 429 pupils within the school as it stands currently. The present school was built in 1966 after being transferred from what is now the Stables Inn on the Findhorn Road.
The present building accommodated around 700 children at one time but the ceiling accommodation is 429. The school merged with Abbeylands School in 1997 and this resulted in an increase in pupil numbers. Over the years the roll has fallen with children being redistributed through out other areas in Moray as well as postings further a field through RAF requirements.
