The school is a co-educational, nondenominational establishment providing education for children in Nursery to Primary 7. There are 10 classes in the school at the present moment plus the nursery class.
The school is situated between the camp quarters and the camp itself and is surrounded by a large grass playing field and tarmac playground. There is therefore ample play accommodation available.
School History
The present school was built in 1966 after being transferred from what is now the Stables Inn on the Findhorn Road. The present building accommodated around 400 children at one time. The school merged with Abbeylands School in 1997 and this resulted in an increase in pupil numbers. Over the years the roll has fallen with children being redistributed through out other areas in Moray as well as postings further a field through Military requirements.
